The below report on Sugar Containing Products for 2019/20 Quarter 2 notes, “through the second quarter of 2019/20, net imports of sugar in products continued to grow” – up 29,485 short tons or 5.8% over the net imports through the second quarter of 2018/19.
The report also points out, “for the first six months of 2019/20, the Sweetener Market Data report showed total deliveries up 2.9 percent.”
“Net imports of sugar in SCPs from Canada through the second quarter of 2019/20 were up 19.2% … Net imports from Mexico were down 4.2% … Net imports of sugar in SCPs from the rest of the world were up 13.2%.”
